Weekly Actions: May 7, 2017
May 7, 2017
Priority Actions for This Week:
Take 5 minutes to protect environmental protection: The Trump administration considers rules around air pollution and radiation to be “unnecessary regulatory burdens.”
Executive Order 13777 directs agencies to establish a Regulatory Reform Task Force to oversee the evaluation of existing regulations and to decide which regulations should be repealed, replaced, or modified.
The EPA has set up this page where you can comment about the regulations. Go there and click “comment.” Type in your comment—It can be short or long and detailed. Be as specific as you can about which EPA regulations you want to protect and add in a personal story, if you have one, about how regulations have impacted your family, community, etc.
To spark ideas, scroll to the bottom of this page under "what can I comment on" to find regulations. These comments are public - do not include any sensitive personal information. Comment period ends May 15!

Also this week, we continue to pressure those invested in the Dakota Access Pipeline. Sign this letter as a PAGE chapter or individual, demanding that Deutsche Bank divest from the DAPL.

Healthcare: If you’re US-American, you probably heard that the House passed a cruel atrocity of a health care bill this week. Here are some of the many ways this bill is terrible.
Take a look at how your rep voted here. You might check out how your US-based friends & family members voted too, in case you feel like letting them know!
Prepare for the long game: Read about what will happen next here. We have many more opportunities to save the Affordable Care Act.
Join a PAGE Working Group PAGE Working Groups are kicking off! Are you passionate about the environment, boycotting evil corporations, or global policy? PAGE working groups will help pick weekly actions in these areas and create tools for our groups.
This is designed to be a light time commitment, about 1-2 hours per week. It will be less if you already follow one of these areas closely and are able to contribute your expertise to our global network.
You’ll get: a chance to deepen your knowledge about an issue, e-meet activists around the world, and a snazzy line for your CV.
